Finca La Donaira
Rustic Andalusian eco-luxury with genuine working-farm grit. Whitewashed walls, exposed stone, reclaimed wood, copper bathtubs, and bespoke antiques. Feels more like a friend's extraordinary country house than a hotel.
Check in at the local bar in El Gastor village — that's the official reception point before you're driven up to the finca
Why It Matters
One of Europe's most credible agritourism projects: a Relais & Châteaux member and Condé Nast Traveler nominee that operates a genuine biodynamic farm, breeds world-class Lusitano horses, produces its own natural wines, and keeps the guest count to nine rooms. All meals, all drinks, spa access, and mountain bikes are included in the room rate — no hotel-formality pricing games.
A 111-year-old cortijo sitting on 1,700 acres of Andalusian hillside in the Serranía de Ronda. Nine individually designed rooms, full-board included in the rate, and a working organic farm that supplies the kitchen with vegetables, eggs, meat, honey, and wine. The equestrian center breeds and trains 70+ Lusitano horses under natural horsemanship principles — and it was a serious stud farm long before the hotel opened.
