Thursday and Saturday are winery tasting evenings in the barrel room — book these in advance, they fill quickly and the restaurant is closed those nights

Why It Matters

The underground winery is an architectural landmark and the real draw. Its design earned a national architecture prize, and the tasting evenings held inside — five courses paired with five wines in the barrel room — are genuinely special. Le Marche's wines are still flying under the radar compared to Tuscany, which makes discovering them here feel like a genuine find.

A working winery and boutique hotel rolled into one on a 17-hectare organic estate in Le Marche. Owners Alberto and Alida Gandolfi converted an old farmhouse into 8 polished rooms and suites — think linen bedding, reclaimed teak, and private outdoor showers surrounded by pittosporum — while architect Cristiana Dell'Acqua designed an underground winery below that won the InArchitettura Award 2023. The estate produces Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and Lacrima di Morro d'Alba DOC from 100% estate-grown grapes under internationally renowned oenologist Luca D'Attoma. Eight units only, so book early.

Guided Winery Tour & Tasting
