Eliamos opened in summer 2023 on a hillside above a private beach on Kefalonia's quiet southern tip — and it's already the only Relais & Châteaux property in the entire Ionian. Co-owner Maike Gruna is an interior designer, and it shows: 12 individually styled villas with private saltwater pools sit among a working olive grove, the terracotta rooftops blending into the landscape so naturally you'd think they'd been there forever. The whole place is built around three pillars — wellbeing, nature, and community — and it pulls all three off without feeling like a wellness brand is talking at you.

Open-plan bedroom and lounge suite facing the sea. It's a self-contained space — private terrace, saltwater pool, and an extra outdoor shower. The Ammos is the most compact sea-view option: great for couples who want the private pool without the sprawl of a full villa. Guests who've stayed in it (including honeymooners) consistently call it perfectly sized.
DoubleElia Maisonette Villa
A two-storey maisonette looking out over the olive grove valley and, beyond it, the sea. One large bedroom upstairs with an en-suite and dressing area; downstairs is a second bathroom, kitchenette, and living room leading to the outdoor saltwater pool and al fresco dining. The duplex layout gives this one a different character — more private and tucked-away than the sea-view units.
DoubleElia One Bedroom Two Storey Villa
The duplex version of the Elia one-bedroom, at 294m². Two floors, two bathrooms with rainfall showers, living room with sofa bed, kitchenette, and a terrace with private saltwater pool. The elevated upper-floor bedroom delivers dramatic views without you having to leave the bed — which, per Mr & Mrs Smith's reviewer, proved to be the whole point.
