San Jose del Cabo
Industrial-chic desert minimalism. Think cement sinks and bedframes, black-trimmed square windows, local artist pieces on white walls. Airy and intentional, not sparse.
Book the Thursday backyard party into your plans — tacos, craft cocktails, and live music from 7:30pm-11:30pm
Why It Matters
One of the few genuine design-forward boutiques in Los Cabos that plants you in the actual city rather than behind a resort gate. Member of Design Hotels and Marriott Bonvoy. Thursday backyard parties with live music and tacos are a neighborhood event, not just a hotel amenity.
A 29-room boutique hotel in the middle of San Jose del Cabo's Gallery District, Drift is the anti-resort option in a region dominated by all-inclusives. Bare concrete walls, handwoven linens, artisanal wicker lampshades, and a courtyard pool ringed by palms set the tone: this is Baja stripped of pretension. The mezcal bar alone — 15 agave varieties, daily happy hours, and a free shot on check-in — is worth showing up for.

On Property
How you'll actually spend your days.
Locally shaped longboards, Bluetooth speakers, and soft car racks — all included. No board, no problem. Just show up and they'll kit you out for Costa Azul, about 7 minutes away.
Hotel staff will point you toward the best galleries, eateries, and local spots in the surrounding art district. Thursday evening art walks are a neighbourhood staple just outside the front door.
The bar offers 15 agave varieties and mezcal tastings on request. Daily happy hours run at the Kitchen + Mezcal Bar. A free mezcal shot is poured for every guest at check-in.
The courtyard pool is available to non-guests via a day pass. Heated pool with sun loungers, hammocks, and a ping pong table.
Free yoga flow in the courtyard every Saturday at 8:30am. Open to guests and locals. Complimentary mats and blocks available on request. Followed by a mimosa on the house.
Weekly event every Thursday from 7:30pm to 11:30pm. Tacos, craft cocktails, and live music. It draws locals as well as hotel guests — very much a neighborhood scene, not a hotel event.
