This heritage-listed grand hotel has anchored the south end of Bremen's Bürgerpark since 1872 — first as a restaurant for day-trippers, then transformed into the full grand hotel it became in 1956. The iconic rotunda looks out over the topiary-lined Hollersee, and every one of the 175 rooms catches either park or lake views. Marble columns, crystal chandeliers, Chesterfield sofas, and ornate cornicing make the interiors feel genuinely historic rather than fussily decorated. It's formally grand, but the Bürgerpark setting keeps things from feeling stuffy.
