Why It Matters

Doric sits directly inside the UNESCO landscape of Agrigento's Valley of the Temples, close enough that the Temple of Juno is visible from every room, the spa, the pool, and the restaurant. That's not a marketing stretch — it's the literal reality here. The resort was built from scratch by an architect-owner starting in 2009, opened as a residence in 2013, and earned its 5-star rating in 2023. Every room has a private pool or jacuzzi, the kitchen runs almost entirely off their own farm, and the whole property runs on photovoltaic and solar thermal energy.

A restored 19th-century fortified Sicilian farmhouse (baglio) currently near completion.
