Why It Matters
One of the rare Provence properties where the golf course, Michelin-starred kitchen, spa, and working permaculture farm all sit on the same estate. L'Aupiho holds 1 Michelin star. The annual Manville Legends Cup brings football and rugby legends from around the world. And the whole thing is still run by the family that built it.
A 5-star family-owned estate spread across 100 hectares inside the Alpilles Regional Natural Park. The Saut family — Edith and Patrick — took a stone farm that dates to 1908 and built it into one of Provence's most distinctive luxury stays. Thirty individually decorated rooms in the main building plus nine standalone villas, a Michelin-starred restaurant, an 18-hole golf course, and a 600 sqm spa. But what sets it apart is the ethos: genuine family hospitality, a working permaculture garden that feeds the kitchen, and an unhurried pace that's hard to manufacture.

An eco-responsible 18-hole course at 5,500 meters — designed with the existing Alpilles landscape in mind, preserving local geology, plant species, and water resources. Has its own academy with a personalized coaching method called 'the colors of my golf game'. Green fees can be booked directly. The Manville Legends Cup — an annual October event uniting former football and rugby internationals — is played here.
The concierge arranges daily bike, mountain bike, and electric bike rentals from a local Saint-Rémy-de-Provence provider. Routes go through olive orchards, vineyards, and hillside villages. Also used for team-building activities.
Guided or self-guided hikes from the property into the Alpilles Regional Natural Park. Destinations include the Opies Tower, Cliff of the Two Holes, Calès caves, Orgon Valley, and peaks with views toward the Mediterranean.

A genuine screening room with reclining red chairs — inaugurated by actor Jean Reno, whose name stuck informally. Available for private film screenings or sports event viewings. Bookable for groups.
Hosted in the estate's wine cellar by the in-house sommeliers. Three curated wines tasted with commentary on origin, history, and character. Sessions run Monday, Thursday, and Friday at 10:30am–11:30am, 5–6pm, or 6–7pm. Minimum 2 people; 48-hour advance reservation required.
