Deer Chaser (遊獵羊灣) sits at 1,000 metres in the Xitou forest canopy, built around a single concept: the fireside gathering. The architecture is raw and deliberate — dark wood, stone, and glass — with every room angled toward bamboo groves or mountain ridgelines. But the real pull is the detail. Dyson dryers, Bose speakers, Chateau-Daisy toiletries, seasonal no-menu dinners, and a nightly cocktail hour that kicks off at 21:00. It operates more like an intimate private club than a traditional hotel. And they mean it about the 'adults-only' policy — nobody under 12.

A gathering-concept room designed for socializing as much as sleeping. Open, warm layout with natural wood detailing. Mid-tier room in the price hierarchy — a solid entry point into the property without going for the top-tier suites.
King星沐 (Xingmu / Star Bath)
The most coveted room at the property. Two-story layout with a full living room on the ground level, a Japanese-style tatami lounge on the second floor facing bamboo forest, and an entire rooftop deck. The signature feature is the oversized circular outdoor soaking tub on the private roof terrace — full 360° forest exposure, no roof above you, stars overhead on clear nights. Sitting sofas and lounge chairs also on the deck. No TV intentionally — the forest is the screen.

One of the dramatic loft rooms (樓中樓) with a spiral staircase connecting two levels. Living area below, bedroom above. Giant floor-to-ceiling windows frame mountain ridges rather than the bamboo grove — reviewers consistently call this the best mountain-facing view in the property. Soaking tub in the bathroom. No TV (intentional).

Floor-to-ceiling glass on multiple sides, the room that feels most completely surrounded by forest. Designed around the concept of a gathering space, so the layout is generous and open-plan. Includes a soaking bathtub and a dedicated outdoor terrace. Positioned as one of the top-tier rooms alongside Xingmu.

An entry-tier room with a cave-like, intimate atmosphere. Darker palette, more enclosed feel compared to the open glass rooms. Soaking bathtub. Good value relative to the property's top tiers.

Two-story room positioned directly above and adjacent to the Hanami Pool (花見池). The ground-floor level opens to a private poolside terrace with lounge seating and a dedicated mini-fridge. Guests here get the pool essentially to themselves — the locking gate makes it feel like a private pool. Skylight above the bedroom on the second floor, plus a full-height glass wall. Shower only (no soaking tub in this room).
King裊裊 (Niaoniao / Wisps)
Two-story loft room built into the hillside-facing side of the property. The ceiling above the ground-floor living area is a skylight, and a full-height glass wall faces the Xitou experimental forest below. A spiral (or straight-run) staircase leads to the bedroom level. Private balcony with sweeping mountain views. More private than road-facing rooms. Soaking bathtub downstairs.
King雪月 (Xueyue / Snow & Moon)
Entry-tier room with soaking bathtub. Clean modernist design with dark-toned materials. Similar tier to 風花 and 秘穴.
King雲泊 (Yunbo / Cloud Mooring)
The only room that sleeps four. Two separate bedrooms plus a shared living area — in the loft style of the other duplex rooms. Bathtub included. Works well for two couples or close friends traveling together. Same wild-luxury fit-out as every other room.
Two Kings風花 (Fenghua / Wind & Flower)
Entry-tier room with soaking bathtub. Forest-facing orientation. Clean, spare design consistent with the property's overall aesthetic.

DIY diffuser stone making using essential oils and natural materials. Part of the property's wellness-adjacent craft programming.
Dedicated firefly viewing program running in spring firefly season (typically April–June). The Xitou forest surrounding the property is prime firefly habitat. The property runs special events and guided viewing sessions during peak season.
A shared shallow wading pool facing the bamboo grove, fed by cold mountain spring water filtered on-site. Water depth reaches knee-level — it's more photogenic splash zone than lap pool, but genuinely refreshing in summer. Open 09:00–22:00. Swimwear required.
A combined session of French macramé weaving and color/chakra exploration — a slow craft activity for couples or small groups.
Hands-on workshop where guests create kokedama (Japanese moss ball) arrangements using local mosses and plants. A slow, tactile activity that fits the property's forest-immersion ethos.
Every evening from 21:00 to 22:00, the property rings a bell in the courtyard (guests take turns with the first ring) and opens an unlimited cocktail and drinks bar. Guests gather in the mountain courtyard (山合院) or at the poolside bar area. It's included in meal packages. The drinks selection is genuinely varied for an hour of unlimited pours.
An open-air covered courtyard space set up for film screenings. Available in the evenings after dinner. Intimate scale — fits the villa gathering concept.
Evening nature walk into the surrounding Xitou forest to observe nocturnal animals, insects, and forest life. Guided experience. The property's own specialty — the forest begins essentially at the door.

Guests must park at the Troutlong Style Restaurant lot (No. 80-10, Xingchan Rd) and call the property 10 minutes before arrival. A complimentary shuttle covers the 10-minute drive to the property entrance. The original on-site lot used natural railway sleeper timber surfacing to preserve the terrain.
