Why It Matters
One of the few design hotels actually inside Como's historic center rather than on the lakeshore. The building itself has been the seat of the Duomo Factory since the early 1400s. The attached Bottega Comacini restaurant, opened late 2023, has become a destination in its own right.
DBH sits directly across from Como Cathedral in a former clerical building — the old Palazzo dei canonici — that was renovated in 2019 and now holds 21 rooms and suites. The address is as central as it gets in Como's old town: step outside and you're staring at Gothic-Renaissance stonework. Inside, the design does the heavy lifting: contemporary furniture from local artisans, herringbone floors, and marble-clad bathrooms with rainfall showers.
