Daios Cove
Rocky cliff resort. Sleek modernist architecture, neutral tones, dark wood, and marble finishes. Family-forward but with enough adults-only spaces (RHO restaurant, adults-only pool) to keep couples happy. The vibe swings between laidback beach club by day and ambient DJ sets after sunset.
Rooms in the 100s building get all-day sun — worth specifying at booking.
Why It Matters
One of the few resorts in Greece with a truly private sandy beach — rare on an island where beaches are legally public. The 2,500 sqm KĒPOS by Goco spa has won multiple World Luxury Spa Awards and Haute Grandeur global honors. Up to 165 private saltwater pools across the property. The Ocean restaurant operates under a collaboration with Ducasse Conseil.
A sprawling modernist resort carved into a hillside above a secluded private cove in northeast Crete. Daios Cove opened in 2010, spans 35 hectares, and packs in 290 rooms, suites, and villas — many with their own saltwater plunge pools overlooking the Aegean. The architecture, by Greek firm 3SK Stylianidis, uses local stone and glass to blend into the rugged landscape rather than fight it.
