Hotel Creusen is a four-star family-run boutique hotel sitting in the rolling hills of South Limburg, in the village of Epen. The Creusen family has owned this place since 1965 — now in its second generation with Pascalle, Paul and Luc at the helm — and that shows in how the hotel feels: genuinely warm, not performatively charming. Think parquet floors, a lounge fireplace, hilltop views from the back rooms, and a heated indoor pool included in every rate.

Familie Suite (Family Suite)
The apartment option for families. Two bedrooms: one with extra-long twin beds for adults, and a smaller room with bunk beds for the kids. There's a full living room with a kitchenette — fridge, microwave, dishwasher and Nespresso — so you can stock up and not rely on the restaurant every night. South-facing balcony overlooking the garden and hills. Private bathroom with separate shower and bath. The most self-contained option in the hotel.
Junior Suite
Nearly twice the size of the standard rooms. Two options: one on the ground floor with its own private terrace (south-facing), and one on the second floor with a balcony. Both look out over the garden. The bathroom steps up to a separate bath and walk-in shower. There's a proper sofa lounge area plus desk, minibar, Nespresso, and the usual air conditioning and WiFi. Only the Junior Suite and Family Suite can be located on the ground floor.
Luxe Kamer (Luxury Room)
The hotel's entry-level room, and already a solid four-star offer. Spacious, with a private bathroom featuring a bath and/or shower, a lounge corner with flatscreen TV, desk, phone, Nespresso machine and air conditioning. Most rooms have parquet flooring and shutters, making them good for allergy sufferers. These rooms face the street or the side of the hotel — comfortable but without the garden view.

Same specifications as the Luxury Room but with one key difference: a private balcony or roof terrace accessed via large sliding doors, looking out over the hotel garden and the Limburg hills beyond. These are the back-facing rooms — the ones guests rave about in reviews. On a clear afternoon the views are genuinely lovely.

The South Limburg hills are popular cycling country, with both road and gravel routes through villages and vineyards. Bike rental is available nearby. The hotel's location in Epen puts you at the centre of the regional cycling network.
The Limburgse Heuvelland has an excellent network of marked walking trails starting right from the hotel door. The hotel hands out a free walking map to every guest on arrival. Routes range from easy valley strolls to longer ridge walks with views across to Belgium and Germany.
