Why It Matters
The original founding property of the Corinthia Hotels group (1962). Built in a 19th-century villa once home to Edward de Bono, later host to Queen Elizabeth. Malta's first true grande dame. Features a Michelin-selected restaurant (BAHIA) and resident chef Francesco Mazzei at Villa Corinthia.

Built around a 19th-century country villa in the residential heart of Attard, Corinthia Palace opened as a fine dining restaurant in 1962 under founder Alfred Pisani, with the hotel following in the villa's gardens shortly after. Edward de Bono grew up in the original villa; Queen Elizabeth has since dined here. Today it's a 152-room, 5-star property that leans firmly classic — think traditional furnishings, manicured gardens and a quietly serious spa — sitting directly across from the San Anton Presidential Palace and botanical gardens.
