Chalet Mounier
Classic Alpine family-run luxury. Warm and authentic rather than sleek or corporate. Think red velvet, wood panelling, a fireplace bar with 5,000 bottles of wine, and five generations of personal welcome. This isn't a design hotel — it's a proper mountain house that happens to have a Michelin star.

Why It Matters
The oldest hotel in Les Deux Alpes, founded in 1879 and run by the same family for five generations. Le P'tit Polyte has held a Michelin star since 1999 — the highest-altitude Michelin star in the Isère department. The spa carries Cinq Mondes accreditation. Direct rooms from around €190/night up to €948/night for the flagship Ecrin Duplex Suite.
Chalet Mounier is the oldest hotel in Les Deux Alpes, and it shows — in the best possible way. The Mounier family has been running this place since 1879, and the fifth generation is at the helm today. Inside, expect exposed stonework, golden woodwork, and that particular mountain warmth that newer properties can't manufacture. The Michelin-starred Le P'tit Polyte restaurant has held its star since 1999, making it the highest perched Michelin star in all of Isère, and the Cinq Mondes-accredited spa adds serious wellness credentials to what is already a strong package.
