Why It Matters

One Michelin star at La Table de l'Orangerie, plus a 1 Clef Michelin (2025) for the hotel itself. Classified Historic Monument. On-site organic winery producing Côteaux d'Aix-en-Provence AOC wines since Roman times. One of the only 5-star Relais & Châteaux properties in inland Provence.

An 18th-century château that spent three centuries as a private family estate before opening as a hotel in 2017. Built in the Quattrocento style — that's the Italianate Renaissance look, with twin turrets capped in green enameled tiles — and classified as a Historic Monument. The 12-hectare listed park holds 180 tree species, including an Atlas cedar planted by the Queen Mother of England. Forty-five minutes from Marseille and 15 minutes from Aix, it's the most serious luxury hotel in the Provençal countryside for many miles.
