Why It Matters
One of the few places in Ireland with a real Yeats connection — he wrote 'The King of the Great Clock Tower' partly inspired by these grounds. The golf course, designed by Ryder Cup-winning captain Darren Clarke, is the only 4-star hotel course in County Sligo. The Icon Spa's outdoor seaweed baths, sourced from the Talty family in County Clare, are a genuine regional specialty.
