Casa Flor Hotel Boutique
Modern-rustic coastal home. White-on-white palette with curated local art, premium linens, and a design-forward simplicity. Interior design by Alejandro Balut, art curation by Julia Helena Piñero, landscaping by Lorena Ponce de León. The vibe is quiet, design-savvy, and personal — owners are genuinely present and full of insider knowledge on the local dining and surf scene.
Ask Alfonso or Juan Manuel for dining and nightlife recommendations — their local circuit is exceptional and includes VIP access to the best seasonal parties.
Why It Matters
One of only four hotels selected by the Michelin Guide for Uruguay's inaugural edition in 2025. Owner-run by two surfer-founders with deep local connections; the kind of access and insider tips they provide are worth as much as the room itself. Expanded in December 2025 to include three new 'super suites' with luxury workspaces, plus a sauna, massage studio, and open spa.
Casa Flor is a 12-room adults-only boutique hotel sitting one block from Playa Montoya, tucked between a coastal forest and the Atlantic. Built in 2019 by childhood friends Alfonso and Juan Manuel after a year surfing in Australia and California, it reads like a private home rather than a hotel — white-on-white interiors, surf-inspired paintings by local artist Nicolás Caubarrere, and an intimate scale that never feels crowded. In 2025 it became one of just four Uruguayan hotels selected by the Michelin Guide.

How you'll actually spend your days.
Alfonso can arrange a traditional Uruguayan asado (barbecue) on request. A genuinely local experience.
The owners arrange taxi bookings, restaurant reservations, and even VIP tickets to the best seasonal parties in La Barra and Punta del Este. Their family and social networks run deep in Uruguayan high society — this kind of access can't be bought anywhere else.
Top-of-the-line bikes available for guests. La Barra's restaurants, shops, and nightlife are 10 minutes away by bike. The coast road between Montoya and Manantiales is flat and scenic.
The central saltwater outdoor pool is surrounded by a garden full of flowers. Breakfast is served poolside on request. The pool area is the social hub of the hotel.
Montoya is one of Uruguay's best surf beaches and is just a block from the hotel. The owner-founders are surfers themselves — ask them for conditions and local tips.
