Alpine minimalism meets farmhouse warmth. Think rough-hewn timber beams, simple modern furniture, and zero fussiness. This is a foodie guesthouse first, a design hotel second.
Stays can be combined with a lunch reservation at Schloss Schauenstein next door — ask the team to arrange it
Why It Matters
Part of Andreas Caminada's culinary world in Fürstenau. Guests get easy access to one of Switzerland's most decorated dining tables (Schloss Schauenstein, 3 Michelin stars next door), while staying in a beautifully converted stable at a fraction of the castle hotel's price. The restaurant has its own Michelin Green Star and Bib Gourmand. Bread baked fresh daily in a wood-fired oven from seventh-generation stove builders wafts through the building every morning.
A 10-room boutique hotel that opened in 2018 inside a 300-year-old converted stable, designed by architect Gion A. Caminada. It sits right next door to Schloss Schauenstein — the three-Michelin-star restaurant and hotel run by chef Andreas Caminada — in Fürstenau, which claims the title of world's smallest city. Rooms are all larch wood, clean lines, and mountain-view balconies; the on-site restaurant holds a Michelin Green Star and a Bib Gourmand for its Grisons regional cooking.

Several courses within easy reach: Golfclub Domat/Ems, Buna Vista Golf Sagogn, Golfclub Alvenau, Golfclub Lenzerheide, Golfclub Bad Ragaz. Graubünden's golf tradition dates to 1889. Greenfees included in the Golf & Dine package.

An award-winning gorge walking trail from the Flem river source down through dramatic canyon scenery into Flims. Crosses seven bridges by engineer Jürg Conzett. Doable as a day trip from Casa Caminada.
The legendary Viamala gorge is just minutes from the hotel — rock walls up to 300m high, carved by the Rhine. Stairs and walkways allow guests to explore the gorge floor and its historical bridges.
The reception team can arrange visits to local organic farms and dairies in the region — part of the property's commitment to Graubünden provenance. Contact the hotel directly to set up.
