Why It Matters
The restaurant has ranked in Condé Nast Traveller's Gold List for food multiple times across nearly two decades, and currently holds a 2026 Australian Good Food Guide Chef Hat placing it in the top 1% of Australian restaurants. The estate runs its own vineyard and employs an in-house sommelier who curates a wine list that retained its 3-glass rating in the 2024 Australian Wine List of the Year Awards.
Cape Lodge is a 22-room adults-only country estate sitting on 40 acres of manicured gardens, ornamental lakes, and its own eight-acre vineyard in Yallingup, at the northern end of the Margaret River wine region. The restaurant is the main event — a 2026 Australian Good Food Guide Chef Hat recipient and a long-time Condé Nast Traveller Gold List pick for food. Rooms are spread across several buildings with lake or garden outlooks; The Residence is a separate three-bedroom private estate on its own three-acre block with a private lake. The whole property closes 30 June 2026 for a major redevelopment.

Garden Deluxe Suite
A step up in space and amenity from the Garden View. At 55 square metres, the open-plan lounge area gives it a proper living-room feel. Choose between a ground-floor private courtyard or an upstairs balcony — both are worthwhile. The bath is the upgrade that matters most here.

Garden View Suite
The entry-level suite, and don't read too much into that. Raking ceilings open the space up considerably and make it feel bigger than 38 square metres. King or twin configuration, ensuite bathroom, and direct access to a private rear courtyard. Good for guests who spend most of their time outdoors and just want a comfortable, well-appointed base.

Lakeside Suite
The pick of the standard rooms. Between 55 and 70 square metres with a proper king bed, a spacious lounge, and direct access to either a lakeside courtyard or a balcony looking straight out over the water. The bath and minibar come as standard. Wake up to waterbirds on the lake — it's that sort of morning.

Lodge King Suite
Situated inside the main lodge building, which is where the action is. The granite ensuite is the standout feature — genuinely impressive material. Views over the surrounding landscape and access to the drawing room between 8am and 6pm are perks the outlying room categories don't get.

The Residence
Entirely separate from the main lodge — a three-bedroom private estate on three acres with its own private lake. Sleeps up to six adults. There is a king in the master, two queen or twin configurations in the other rooms, a full kitchen, dishwasher, BBQ, outdoor entertaining area, fireplace, and even a one-hole golf green on the lawn. This is the group booking option, and it functions essentially as a self-contained luxury house rather than a hotel room.
