Cannúa Lodge
Cloudbusting eco-luxury. Loft-inspired rooms with exposed earthen bricks and reclaimed wood, widescreen valley views, farm-to-table French-Colombian cuisine, and serious permaculture credentials — without any of the roughing-it discomfort.
Book a cabaña over a standard room if budget allows — the wraparound windows give the feeling of floating above the valley
Why It Matters
Holds 2 Michelin Keys (2025) — one of very few lodging properties in Colombia to earn the distinction. Built entirely from materials sourced on-site. The property sits inside a natural reserve that supplies 50% of Marinilla's drinking water. Access to a pre-Hispanic hiking trail thousands of years old. Ranked #1 hotel in Marinilla on TripAdvisor.
Cannúa is a Michelin Two-Key eco-lodge sitting high in the cloud forest above Marinilla, in the mountains of eastern Antioquia. Built from over 100,000 compressed earth bricks hewn from the estate itself, the property sits on nine protected hectares and looks straight out over the San Nicolás Valley — a view that hits you from every single room. The architecture is based on the golden ratio. The chef sources from the on-site permaculture garden every morning. And yes, the access road is 20 minutes of rocky mountain track. Worth it.
