A former stonemason's villa from 1923 turned into a 7-room hotel by restaurateurs Dominique and Erik Essink. The old bones of the building — original parquet floors, stucco ceilings, exposed roof beams — sit alongside clean modern design, warm fabrics, and high-end materials like marble and natural stone. The Michelin Guide awarded it 1 Key in 2025, calling it a 'showcase boutique hotel' for its stylish rooms and genuine hospitality. And the food is excellent, because the owners come from the restaurant world.

How you'll actually spend your days.
The hotel packages stays around the famous Bregenz Festival (Bregenzer Festspiele) in Austria, a short drive away. Seasonal event packages available — check the hotel's events page.
Hands-on cooking classes run by chef Erik Essink in the Meersalz restaurant kitchen. Groups of 12 or more get a behind-the-scenes look at professional kitchen technique, working through a multi-course menu with the recipes to take home. Kitchen events for corporate groups or family celebrations can be arranged for up to 40 people.
The Lake Constance cycling route (Bodensee-Radweg) passes through the area. Flat, scenic cycling around the lake is a popular activity for guests. The hotel is well-positioned as a base.
