Borgo La Chiaracia Resort & SPA
Refined rural Italian countryside resort. Classic Umbrian farmhouse architecture with contemporary interiors: exposed wooden beams, soft earthy tones, and high ceilings. Serious about food and wellness, without being flashy. Feels more like a private estate than a hotel.

Why It Matters
Michelin-recommended restaurant Radici, Italy's most advanced in-house meeting technology (per the property's own claim via VRM Italia ownership), an estate-grown wine program, and a genuinely exceptional spa in a region that still flies under most travellers' radar. Also recognized by the FAI (Fondo Ambiente Italiano) as one of Italy's 'Places of the Heart.'
Borgo La Chiaracia opened in 2018 on the Alfina Plateau at 600 meters elevation — volcanic soil at the triangle where Umbria, Lazio, and Tuscany meet. The name comes from 'chiaracia,' the Umbrian dialect word for the ancient cherry tree still standing on the estate. Spread across three stone farmhouse buildings on 14 hectares of organic vineyards, orchards, and woodland, the resort holds just 26 rooms and suites, which gives it an intimacy that larger properties can't fake. The Radici restaurant is Michelin-recommended and the real draw for serious food travellers.
