Why It Matters
One of Colombia's most architecturally distinctive eco-hotels, set in the UNESCO-recognized Coffee Cultural Landscape. Each habitat is completely independent — no shared walls, no neighbors in sight — and several include private plunge pools with Andes mountain views. The hotel operates on solar energy, runs wetland water treatment, and practices permaculture on-site. The Basto Resto Bar under chef María Clara is a genuine slow-food operation drawing ingredients from its own agroecological garden.
Bio Habitat Hotel sits at the highest point of the Armenia–Circasia mountain road, surrounded by over 160,000 m² of native Andean forest in Colombia's Coffee Cultural Landscape. The entry-level forest experience at 34 sqm — compact but completely immersed. Elevated between trees and plants, king bed, and a balcony that looks straight into the canopy. No outdoor bathtub (that's the Aviaries Master), but still a mini bar and forest-facing bathroom. Good for travelers who want the forest feeling without paying for the Master tier.

Elevated between trees in the native forest at 48 sqm — smaller than the mountain suites but with a completely different intimacy. Surrounded by multiple bird species and the sound of pure forest. The outdoor bathtub on the balcony is the highlight: you're literally bathing in the treetops. Private bathroom also looks directly into the forest.

Grand Master Suite — Forest
Same generous 80 sqm footprint as its mountain counterpart, but positioned a few meters from the native forest with views straight into the dense canopy and towering trees. The top-of-the-range mountain option. At 80 sqm, this habitat is suspended on the mountainside with panoramic views of the Andes and the hotel's native forest. At 67 sqm, this is the mountain-view suite with an outdoor jacuzzi but without the private plunge pool of the Grand Masters. The large terrace and chill-out room give it a generous feel. Nests
The most secluded option on the property — 32 sqm habitats located 200 meters down from the lobby in the lower forest, about 10 minutes on foot. Completely isolated in lush flora and fauna, with an exterior net-bed for lying outside. Room service starts at noon here, so don't expect an early breakfast in bed. The walk through the forest is part of the experience.

Snowcapped Mountain Cabin
The family-friendly option and the one room type that breaks from the all-glass modernist template. At 85 sqm it's actually the largest habitat, with two bedrooms each with queen beds, two private bathrooms, a living room, and a private plunge pool. Surrounded by orchards and gardens close to the native forest. At dawn on clear days, you can see the snow-capped peaks of the Andes.
