Belvedere Hotel - Kingston
Heritage boutique with serious design intention. Draws from 19th-century Empire-style, Art Deco boldness, and Mid-Century warmth. Nothing is cookie-cutter — every room has different proportions, different views, different details. The feeling is more grand house than hotel.
Book the Bathhouse separately via Klickbook — sessions are limited and fill up. It's $99 per person for a 4-hour thermal pass.
Why It Matters
One of Kingston's oldest and most historically significant lodging properties, associated with the Tablet Hotels collection and listed on the Michelin Guide. The first thorough restoration and reopening since 2021 makes it the city's most anticipated boutique hotel return. The Bathhouse at The Belvedere — a full thermal circuit in original limestone vaults — is a first for the region.
Built in 1880 as a grand private residence by architects John and Joseph Power, the Belvedere has had a long, storied run as Kingston's most prestigious address. Vogue once called it 'the only reasonable place to stay between Montreal and Toronto.' It closed in 2021, sat dark for several years, then reopened in 2025 after an extensive restoration by BPE Development. The result is 19 rooms across two historic buildings — original marble mantels, soaring ceilings, and handsome millwork intact — paired with Silk & Snow mattresses, curated minibars, and a lower-level thermal bathhouse that is genuinely unlike anything else in the region.
