Au Presbytère de Saigneville
Bohemian countryside charm. Whitewashed walls, vaulted ceilings, Nespresso on the courtesy tray, church pews in the garden. Feels like staying with friends who happen to cook brilliantly.

Why It Matters
Combination of the authentic 1750s presbytery setting, the roulotte gitane accommodation option, and a genuinely inventive table d'hôtes (waterzooi de la mer, ficelle picarde revisitée, mussels with Maroilles) makes this far more interesting than a standard B&B. Listed on both Michelin Guide and Tablet Hotels. Eco-certified member of Baie de Somme Zéro Carbone.
A former 18th-century presbytery in the tiny village of Saigneville, run by Vanessa and Joël Wilmot with a clear eco-conscious philosophy. Four rooms inside the main building and its annex, plus two vibrantly painted gypsy caravans (roulottes gitanes) parked in the garden. The table d'hôtes on Thursday–Saturday evenings is genuinely gastro-locavore: seasonal products sourced from the Bay and local artisans, paired with the house's own artisanal beers. No spa, no pool — just very good food, interesting rooms, and one of the prettiest corners of northern France on the doorstep.

On Property
How you'll actually spend your days.
The property's own two beers — La Presbytérienne (amber with cardamom, brewed at Brasserie de la Somme in Domart-en-Ponthieu) and L'Octante (light, refreshing) — available to taste and purchase on-site. Also available to take home.
Hosts can prepare a picnic basket for day trips — request the evening before. Popular with cyclists and hikers heading into the bay.
The Somme towpath runs directly below the property, connecting Abbeville to Saint-Valéry-sur-Somme. Flat, scenic route along the river and into the bay.
The wider Baie de Somme area offers sand yachting at Fort-Mahon beaches, kayaking and canoeing on the bay, and paddle boarding. Not operated by the property, but recommended by hosts and discounted via the included Pass d'un Instant card.
The Baie de Somme is one of France's top birdwatching and wildlife destinations. Seal colonies and vast migratory bird flocks are the main draws, particularly spring and autumn. The bay is about 7 km from the property.
