Why It Matters
One of Switzerland's most decorated small hotels: 1 Michelin Key for the property and a Michelin Star plus 17/20 Gault&Millau for the restaurant Au 1465. It sits directly on the lake, accepts only 16 guests at a time, and has converted a historic alpinists' club into something genuinely special without losing its mountain soul.
A former alpinists' club and hikers' waystation on the Tour du Mont Blanc route, now a proper 8-room boutique hotel sitting right at the edge of Lac de Champex. The building is almost absurdly well-placed — water on one side, mountains on the other. Its on-site restaurant, Au 1465, earned a Michelin star, and the hotel itself holds 1 Michelin Key. Small, intentional, and serious about quality.

Comfortable rooms with the same noble material palette as the rest of the property — natural tones, fir wood, and understated alpine design. These face away from the lake, making them the more affordable entry point. Still include spa access and breakfast.

25 square metres of carefully crafted alpine space, facing directly onto the lake. The woodwork is old fir, cut by local artisans. Bathrooms are done in Simplon stone. Mirrored wall panels reflect the landscape back into the room. It's a compact but very intentional space — nothing is wasted.

Grande Suite Vue Lac
The hotel's most spacious option, designed with families or longer stays in mind. Features a full living room, separate bedroom, a complete kitchen with stovetop, refrigerator, dishwasher and kitchenware, and direct lake views. The largest footprint in the building.

Lake-facing suite with a separate living room, giving a genuine sense of space compared to the rooms. The same fir and Simplon stone materials carry through. Good option for guests wanting to settle in for a few nights — the kitchen setup makes longer stays easier.
