Why It Matters
The only 5-star Relais & Châteaux property in the Aravis massif, with a Michelin-starred restaurant (Le Cin5) earning its star in March 2024, and a Michelin Key award the same year. Its Cristal Spa's rock-crystal hammam is genuinely unusual — the owner built his career importing semi-precious stones and put them throughout the property.
La Clusaz's only five-star hotel, Au Cœur du Village sits right in the center of this Savoyard mountain village, 50 meters from the nearest ski lift. Behind an understated Alpine-lodge exterior is a genuinely luxurious 60-room property — 41 suites, 19 bedrooms, and a standalone private chalet — decorated in a contemporary mountain style with works by local artist Ludovic Di Orio and semi-precious stones scattered throughout. It holds a Michelin Key (awarded 2024) and is home to Le Cin5, a Michelin-starred restaurant. It's essentially a private house with a five-star hotel looking after you. The most in-demand option for families or groups.

How you'll actually spend your days.
During French school holiday weeks, the hotel runs a supervised kids' entertainment programme from 5pm to 10pm. Children have access to a dedicated lounge with a game console, board games, painting, and a 40m² cinema room. A special children's dinner buffet is served at 7pm. Babysitting can also be arranged at extra cost.
The concierge team handles airport or station transfers, ski pass purchases, ski school reservations, restaurant bookings, and village shuttle trips in the hotel's 9-seat VW Caravelle. All complimentary as part of the five-star service.
A fully equipped ski shop on-site with the latest generation of rental equipment. Cuts out the hassle of walking to a separate hire shop in ski boots.
The hotel offers ski-in access and the nearest lift (La Patinoire gondola) is just 50–150 meters away. Guests can ski back to the hotel at the end of the day. The hotel concierge can arrange ski passes, ski school bookings, and equipment rental.
