Why It Matters

One of Spain's most garlanded addresses: 3 Michelin stars, 3 Soles Repsol, and 3 Michelin Keys for the hotel — earned over nearly 40 years of operation. The wine cellar holds 40,000 bottles from 20+ countries, including 95 vintages of Château d'Yquem dating back to 1891, and has received Wine Spectator's Best Award of Excellence. Relais & Châteaux member since 2005. Toño Pérez earned his third Michelin star in the 2023 Guide, and also holds the National Gastronomy Award.

Atrio is the rare place where the hotel exists because the restaurant deserves one. Chef Toño Pérez holds 3 Michelin stars and 3 Soles Repsol here — one of Spain's most decorated kitchens — and the hotel wraps around it with the same quiet seriousness. Fourteen rooms sit behind a medieval stone façade in the UNESCO World Heritage walled city of Cáceres, all designed with architects Emilio Tuñón and Luis Mansilla's signature restraint: vivid white walls, big round tubs, underfloor heating, and original artworks including Andy Warhol and Georg Baselitz prints on the walls.
