Arosea Life Balance Hotel sits beside Lake Zoccolo in Val d'Ultimo, one of South Tyrol's quieter alpine valleys inside the Stelvio National Park. The hotel, opened in 2007 and run by the Stauder family, is built around three regional materials: Swiss pine wood (said to reduce heart rate and improve sleep quality), slate (grounding, purportedly protective against harmful radiation), and sheep wool (insulating and detoxifying). The result is a property where the architecture, spa, food and rooms all genuinely follow the same philosophy rather than just selling it.

Deluxe Life Balance Suite
The hotel's flagship. At 110 sqm (plus 25 sqm terrace), it adds a private wellness and relaxation area with a waterbed and a dedicated massage room — so you can book in-room treatments without going to the spa. The bedroom has a canopy bed and the living room comes with a 'Living Stone' designer couch. The bathroom is the real show: a designer wooden bathtub, rain shower, and double vanity. Plus the private rooftop sauna with Kneipp shower, 24 hours. This is a complete private spa apartment more than just a hotel suite.
110 sqmFamily Balance Suite
At 90 sqm including a 25 sqm south-facing terrace, this is the practical family option. A second bedroom or sleeping nook means parents and kids aren't on top of each other. There's a full living area, proper double-basin bathroom with both tub and shower, a separate WC with bidet, and a walk-in closet. No private sauna on this one, but the terrace is generous and the layout gives everyone some independence.

The step up from the Family Suite is the private sauna on the terrace. This 90 sqm suite has a panoramic outdoor Finnish sauna available 24 hours a day with a Kneipp shower directly beside it — you can walk from hot sauna to cold Kneipp water without leaving your terrace. Inside: a generous bedroom, a separate sleeping or relaxation room, bathroom with tub and double basin, separate WC with bidet, and the standard Swiss pine joinery throughout. From €215 per person.
90 sqmStone Pine Room – East-Facing Balcony
The entry-level room is anything but basic. Swiss stone pine (Zirmbaum in German) fills the room with a natural resinous scent that the hotel says helps lower heart rate and improve sleep. At 44 sqm it's generously proportioned. The east-facing balcony (8 sqm) catches morning sun over the alpine meadows. Open bathroom with separate bathtub and shower, walk-in closet, and a drinking fountain with Grander water in each room — a small touch that signals how seriously the hotel takes its concept.

Same 44 sqm layout as the east-facing room but with a south-west-facing balcony that collects afternoon and evening sun — good for people who take their sundowners seriously.
