Why It Matters
The Water Tower Bar is a genuine Brooklyn landmark — a glass-enclosed cylinder perched on the rooftop with 360-degree Manhattan skyline views and resident DJs on weekends. The building was originally designed by Michaelis Boyd (the same firm behind Soho House Berlin and Babington House UK), and every piece of furniture in the rooms is custom-made in collaboration with Bill Amber Studio.
Arlo Williamsburg is an eight-story, 147-room lifestyle hotel in North Brooklyn, built inside a brick, glass, and Corten steel building designed by London firm Michaelis Boyd Studio. Originally opened in 2017 as The Williamsburg Hotel, it was taken over by Arlo Hotels under Quadrum Global ownership in September 2023. The hotel's calling card is its rooftop scene: a 40-foot heated pool, the iconic cylindrical Water Tower Bar with sweeping Manhattan skyline views, and ART Williamsburg, one of Brooklyn's most talked-about rooftop pool decks.
