Maia Seychelles Villas
Secluded, ultra-private all-villa resort. Think Bali-meets-Seychelles: teak, fire torches, granite boulders, limpid lagoons. The atmosphere is resolutely unhurried — you set the pace, your Villa Host takes care of everything else.

Why It Matters
Originally opened as MAIA in 2007, designed by Bill Bensley (one of his own favourite projects), it pioneered the 'beyond all-inclusive' private villa concept in the Seychelles. The property sits on a private peninsula with its own beach, 30 infinity-pool villas, a hilltop spa built around million-year-old granite boulders, and a dedicated Villa Host per villa. Condé Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure and Mr & Mrs Smith have all called it one of Mahé's most exclusive properties.
Thirty private pool villas strung across a 30-acre peninsula between Anse Louis and Anse Boileau on Mahé's west coast. Bill Bensley designed every last detail — thatched roofs, hammered copper, precious woods — and the result is a property that looks like it grew out of the jungle rather than was built on top of it. Rebranded from the legendary MAIA Luxury Resort & Spa in 2020, it remains one of the Indian Ocean's most private addresses, with every villa getting its own dedicated host on call around the clock.
