Why It Matters
One of Southeast Asia's most genuinely exclusive addresses. Accessible only by Aman's chartered private flight, the island has zero public access. The 7+ sq km coral reef system is exceptional for diving and snorkelling, the kite-surfing season draws serious water sports enthusiasts, and the turtle nesting programme (green and hawksbill turtles, March to October) is a remarkable natural experience.
Amanpulo sits on Pamalican Island — a tiny, privately owned island in the Cuyo Archipelago of northern Palawan that rises just a few metres above sea level. There is nothing else here: no village, no road connecting to anywhere, no other guests outside the resort. You fly in on Aman's own 14-seat twin-engine turboprop from Manila, land on the resort's private airstrip 90 minutes later, and that's your world for the duration of your stay. Powdery white-sand beaches ring the entire island, pristine coral reefs begin just 300 metres offshore, and the jungle-clad hillside hides the hilltop spa.

When the private airstrip finishes its flight schedule for the day, it transforms into a racetrack for late-afternoon go-karting. Not widely advertised — ask the activities desk.
