Why It Matters
The first AMANO property outside Germany, and one of the few design hotels in central London offering strong F&B with a fair price-to-location ratio. The Penelope's restaurant won Best Luxury Restaurant at the 2024 British Restaurant Awards. The rooftop bar on the 7th floor has genuine sightlines to Big Ben and the London Eye. Green Key certified for sustainability.
Berlin-based AMANO Group's first property outside Germany, opened in May 2022. The hotel sits on Russell Street in the middle of Covent Garden's theatre district — Theatre Royal Drury Lane is steps away, the Royal Opera House a 3-minute walk. It has 141 rooms across six floors, a seventh-floor rooftop bar with London Eye views, a Spanish-Israeli fusion restaurant on the ground floor, and a basement bar that turns into a proper party venue on weekends. Design by London studio Woods Bagot: clean lines, muted tones, warm lighting, and a deliberately Berlin-influenced energy that feels noticeably less stuffy than most central London hotels at this price point.

Penelope's restaurant's legendary Saturday night concept: a dinner experience that transitions into a full party with live DJs. Inspired by the original ISRAMANI events at AMANO's Berlin properties. Food is Spanish-Israeli fusion; the energy is decidedly more nightclub than fine dining by the end of the evening.
The 43 sqm private dining room seats up to 22 guests and can be hired for business meetings, private dinners, or celebrations. Penelope's restaurant and the rooftop bar can also be booked exclusively for larger events (up to 160 standing).
The rooftop's dedicated 'glassroom' space hosts cocktail masterclasses, tastings, private workshops, and curated events with city views as the backdrop.
