Why It Matters
The pool alone is worth the trip — it curves around a three-story sandstone formation that juts right into the water. Amangiri means 'peaceful mountain' in Sanskrit, and the name earns it. One of the most architecturally striking resort designs in the US, and a genuine gateway to five national parks.
Amangiri sits on over 900 acres of the Colorado Plateau in southern Utah — red rock, open sky, and serious silence. The 34 modernist suites wrap around a pool that's built into a natural sandstone mesa, and the architecture doesn't fight the landscape so much as disappear into it. The resort's marquee room. At 348 square metres (3,472 sq ft) it's genuinely vast — private lap pool measuring 18 by 4 metres, sun deck with outdoor dining area, sky terrace with a large day bed for stargazing, twin showers and deep-soaking tub. The entry courtyard opens onto the pool terrace. Al-fresco dining at the firepit terrace, a breezeway connecting desert lounge to pool. Full-room-service and custom itinerary planning included.

Camp Sarika Tented Pavilion (One-Bedroom)
Located at Camp Sarika, a five-minute drive or 25-minute hike from the main hotel. Canvas-roofed pavilion with indoor living and dining areas, expansive terrace with fire pit, and a heated private plunge pool — all facing the mesas. A genuinely back-to-nature experience without sacrificing any material comfort. Full-board dining at Camp Sarika's own restaurant. Guests also access the main Aman Spa.

Overlooks vast dunes and expansive desert with a large private pool, sky terrace, and firepit. The firepit becomes the main attraction after dark — the stars here are extraordinary, and there's no light pollution for miles. Private pool + sky terrace + firepit is the full desert-night package.

The entry point — and still larger than most New York City apartments. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame uninterrupted views of undulating dunes and stark plateaus from the king-size bed. Each suite has a private outdoor terrace with a fireplace. White stone floors, concrete walls, natural timbers, blackened steel fittings. No private pool, but the main mesa pool is right there.

Named for its mountain-ridge views, the Girijaala Suite is a serious step up — an enormous sky lounge, private pool terrace, desert and sky lounges overlooking the surrounding mesas. Entry is through a private courtyard, with broad stairs leading up. Two large day beds on the sky lounge. Green-tiled ensuite with two rainfall showers, oversized soaking tub, dual vanities. At 93 square metres (1,000 sq ft), this is one of the more intimate options. Entry is through a private orchard-lined courtyard — a shaded surprise in the desert — and the suite sits just a stone's throw from the Aman Spa. King-size bedroom, deep-soaking tub, twin vanities, dressing area. Same concrete walls and white stone floors throughout.
