Why It Matters
One of the very few design-forward boutique hotels in West Adams, a neighborhood better known for its excellent restaurant and gallery scene than its lodging. Listed on both Tablet Hotels and Preferred Hotels & Resorts. The $20/night destination fee covers Wi-Fi, the Nespresso machine, fitness studio access, and pool — so at least the nickel-and-diming is bundled. Chulita, a Michelin Bib Gourmand Mexican restaurant, is next door (literally 10 doors down at 5160 W Adams).
A 48-room boutique hotel in LA's historic West Adams neighborhood, Alsace looks pretty unremarkable from the outside — just another building among the Craftsman bungalows and Beaux-Arts mansions on the block. But inside, Brooklyn-based Home Studios delivered Bauhaus-inspired interiors with white oak floors, rattan furnishings, brass and copper fittings, and ocean-blue mosaic-tiled showers. The 2,000 sq ft courtyard with designer bubble chairs and a small heated pool is the real heart of the place.

A standout option: 247–274 sq ft inside, but you get a private terrace overlooking the West Adams neighborhood and Baldwin Hills. Good for morning coffee outside with a view of the hills.

Steps up from the Superior King with West Adams neighborhood views instead of the courtyard. Runs 290–310 sq ft. Same design package with the white oak, rattan, mosaic shower, and full in-room tech.

The pick of the bunch. 390–410 sq ft with a private furnished terrace or balcony, a separate sitting area, and the full design treatment. Custom-designed dining table and bespoke pull-out couch inside — good for working or hosting. Fits up to 3 guests.

The entry-level room and it's quite compact at 227 sq ft. White oak floors, rattan furnishings, brass and copper fittings, and the signature ocean-blue mosaic-tiled walk-in shower. Courtyard-facing views. New York Revival linens on the king bed.
