Why It Matters
One of only a small number of Danish hotels to hold a 2025 MICHELIN Key. The original 1774 timber framing is still intact, and the hotel is one of the oldest surviving buildings in Allinge. King Frederik VII and Countess Danner slept here in 1851. From 2026, new hosts Madeleine Tejnby and Christian Milling are overhauling the food program, adding a sauna, and deepening ties to local Bornholm producers.
A 24-room boutique hotel in a half-timbered building from 1774 on the northern coast of Bornholm. The sea is literally meters from the front door — Ocean View rooms sit about as close to the Baltic as you can get without getting your feet wet. Rooms are small (most are 15–17 sqm) but individually designed with Danish furnishings, Auping beds, and no TVs by design. No pool, no spa, no room service. What it has: a MICHELIN Key, a seriously good organic breakfast, complimentary bikes, and a wine bar open to all.

How you'll actually spend your days.
The granite cliffs of North Bornholm begin right at the hotel grounds. Helligdomsklipperne coastal trails are accessible on foot or bike. The Hammeren headland and Madsebakke rock carvings (Denmark's largest collection of petroglyphs) are nearby.
Hotel bikes available free for all guests. The coastal road north, Hammershus Castle, or just a ride without a destination. Bornholm has an excellent cycling infrastructure and the hotel is ideally positioned for day rides.
The seaside garden faces east over the Baltic with old trees, blooming roses, outdoor sofas and shaded corners. A genuinely peaceful spot for reading, doing nothing, or enjoying breakfast outdoors.
Næs Beach is a 1-minute walk from the hotel along the coast — a small sandy beach with a bathing jetty and steps directly into the Baltic. Many guests swim before breakfast. The hotel's Ocean View rooms look directly out to the water.
New for 2026 — a sauna for hotel guests, designed for a classic Nordic sauna-to-sea-plunge-to-breakfast sequence. Availability and booking details to be confirmed for the season.
Amenities & Practical Info
The details that matter for planning.
Complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. Guests note they often end up using it less than expected.
Full organic breakfast from Bornholm producers included in every room rate. Served 8:00–10:30 AM daily in the dining room or the garden.
A deliberate choice — all rooms (except where noted) are TV-free. The hotel explicitly frames this as creating space for presence and relaxation.
EV charging stations available at several locations around Allinge — not on-site but within easy reach.
Large parking lot directly adjacent to the hotel. Almost always has space.
Gift cards available for purchase via the official website.
All bed linen and towels washed by a Nordic Swan Ecolabel-certified laundry on Bornholm. Rooms not cleaned daily by default — opt-in only, which reduces water by ~30%, chemicals by 29%, energy by 25%.
Hotel bikes available free of charge for all guests. Personal bikes welcome too.
No pool on-site. The Baltic Sea is the swimming option — Næs Beach is 1 minute on foot.
