Airelles Val d'Isère is the only true ski-in, ski-out five-star palace in the resort, sitting right on the Front de Neige at 1,800 metres above sea level. The Savoyard stone-and-timber facade blends into the village seamlessly, but step inside and architect Christophe Tollemer's world takes over: hundreds of antiques, Louis XIII armchairs, hand-painted star frescoes and oak parquet floors that feel more private alpine manor than hotel. Four restaurants — including a Nobu Matsuhisa outpost and Le Piaf — a 1,200 m² Guerlain spa, and one of the best ski rooms in the Alps make it easy to see why this place commands the prices it does.
