Agriturismo La Fiorida
Alpine farm meets refined sustainability. Warm larch wood interiors, stone textures, zero-kilometer cuisine philosophy, and genuine agri-hospitality rooted in three generations of the Vanini family. More rugged mountain authenticity than polished luxury resort.
Book La Preséf well in advance — it only seats a small number of guests and is closed Sun, Mon, and currently all of summer 2025 for renovation
Why It Matters
Italy's first Michelin-starred agriturismo. The restaurant La Preséf earned its star in 2013 — just two years after opening — and added a Michelin Green Star in 2022. The property runs its own dairy, slaughterhouse, vegetable gardens, and barn with Alpine Brown cows. The supply chain is genuinely 69 meters from stable to table.
La Fiorida is a genuine working agriturismo in Valtellina, about an hour from Milan, where the farm isn't just a backdrop — it's the whole point. Larch wood and local stone define the 29-room Agri Relais, while a 400+ sqm spa, a Michelin-starred restaurant, and an operating dairy and slaughterhouse on the premises make this a rare all-in-one retreat. Chef Gianni Tarabini's La Preséf holds both a Michelin star and a Green Star for sustainability, making La Fiorida the first starred agriturismo in Italy.

A curated package that combines a stay at La Fiorida with a trip on the famous Bernina Express train, one of the highest railway crossings in the Alps.
The full cheesemaker experience for ages 6+: includes making a semi-hard cheese like a real master casaro, in addition to the classic butter and fresh cheese.
Kids (and curious adults) learn to turn cream into butter and milk into first-salt cheese using fresh milk from the barn. Hands-on and genuinely educational. Ages 4+.
E-bike rental for guests to explore the Sentiero Valtellina, a long-distance cycling trail that runs from Colico along the Adda River toward Sondrio. La Fiorida sits right at the start of the trail.
Meet the farm's goat Ciambella and try milking her firsthand. Included in the guided farm tour from March to November.
A guided 90-minute walk through the entire La Fiorida operation: dairy with live milk processing, greenhouses, vegetable gardens, pig and goat farm, and the landmark high-tech barn housing 200+ Alpine Brown cows. Guests aged 4+ can try milking the goat Ciambella (March–November). Breeding technicians from around the world visit this barn — it's genuinely impressive.
The property sits directly on the Sentiero Valtellina, one of Lombardy's longest cycling and walking trails, running along the Adda River. The trail can be explored on foot or by rented bike directly from the property.
