Why It Matters
Ace's first European property in years and only their second Swim Club globally. The building was the iconic Fenix Hotel, renovated by Ciguë with an art program featuring 18+ Greek artists. Day passes to the pool are sold to non-guests, making it a genuine neighborhood social hub. Sebastian restaurant is led by Michelin-recognized Chef Elvi Zyba.
Built on the bones of the 1970s Fenix Hotel, this 120-room property is Ace's second Swim Club globally (the first being Palm Springs) and the brand's Athens debut. French studio Ciguë stripped the building back to its concrete skeleton and rebuilt it as a homage to Greek modernism — brutalist balconies, a Dionysos marble front desk, harpies-shaped lamp sconces by Panos Profitis, and turntables with vinyl curated by Greek Visions in select rooms. The pool is the social center: lemon-yellow umbrellas, pistachio-green loungers, a Jacuzzi by the bar, and DJ sets every weekend. Rooms are compact by five-star standards, but the design detail is immaculate.
