Why It Matters
One of Corsica's oldest farmhouse inns, founded in 1988 by Antoine and Lili de Rocca Serra. The restaurant is the anchor — a single set menu each evening built entirely around farm produce, with recipes passed down across three generations. The treehouse and caseddi accommodations are genuinely rare in the region.
A Pignata is a 4-star mountain farm inn run by the De Rocca Serra family at 850 meters elevation in Alta Rocca, southern Corsica. The inn and the working farm are intertwined — Antoine and Jean-Baptiste split their days between managing guests and tending pigs, market gardens, and olive groves. What lands on your plate at dinner was, very literally, raised down the road. The property has 19 rooms across several distinct formats: classic hotel rooms in the main stone building, treehouses perched in the canopy, and restored stone caseddi (traditional Corsican sheepfolds) — each with its own character.
