47 Boutique Hotel
Contemporary modernist boutique with a strong curatorial personality — think original memorabilia (a Pelè-signed World Cup shirt on the 3rd floor, Depero Campari prints in the bistro), Technogym wellness area, and a rooftop holding Gambero Rosso's '2 Forks' since 2020.

Why It Matters
Genuinely exceptional location — the Forum, Circus Maximus, and Palatine Hill are all walkable. The two 5th-floor suites with corner terraces overlooking the Forum Boarium temples are rare in Rome at this price tier. Green Globe certified and sustainably run, with house-produced extra virgin olive oil from their own 4-hectare farm in Tuscia.
The 47 Boutique Hotel sits right in the Forum Boarium — ancient Rome's old sacred commercial district — with actual temple views from the upper floors. It's a 4-star, 61-room property spread across five themed floors, each dedicated to a different obsession: Italian design, fashion, 1960s icons, photography, and the suites floor where two private terraces look directly at the Temple of Portunus and Hercules Victor. The building itself dates to the 1930s, but the interior is very much a 20th-century modernist aesthetic — clean lines, parquet floors, Nespresso machines, Marshall Bluetooth speakers. And it's the only Green Globe-certified hotel in Rome.

How you'll actually spend your days.
The hotel offers bicycles for rent, and the area is particularly well-suited for cycling — the riverside path along the Tiber and the paths near Circus Maximus are right outside. Reviews consistently mention well-maintained bikes.
Professional MBM Biliardi table available for both American-style pool and carom. A proper billiards room, not a table wedged in a corner.
The concierge organizes private tours with certified guides, including a running tour through the ancient sites ('Archeorunning') as well as standard tours of the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Vatican, and underground catacombs. Full tour details via the hotel's Archeorunning PDF.
A green, plant-filled internal courtyard open all day — from breakfast through the evening. One of the more genuinely relaxing spots in the hotel, completely shielded from city noise.
A 30-seat private cinema with movable seats, modern video systems, and Dolby Surround audio. Available for private bookings, events, and special screenings. Children's programming can be arranged on request through the concierge.
An afternoon tea room service offering petite pastries made by the chef, paired with selections from 'La Via del Tè' — a Florentine tea company operating since 1961. A quiet escape after sightseeing.
